Nepal seeks Chinese investors and tourists
NEPAL welcomes Chinese investments as one way to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and Nepali Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal highlighted tourism in which they can cooperate for mutual benefit.
"We welcome more investors for our hydropower projects, tourism industry, infrastructure and the agricultural sector," Nepal said during a meeting with Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng yesterday in the city.
Nepal said the two countries can cooperate in tourism for mutual benefit and he welcomes more Chinese tourists to his country.
Last year China's economy grew 8.9 percent in the third quarter, following an expansion of 7.9 percent in the second quarter and a 6.1 percent rise in the first quarter.
Nepal, who began his six-day visit to China on December 26, said he is impressed by the development of Shanghai.
Han thanked the country for its support for the World Expo 2010 which Shanghai will host from May 1 to October 31 this year.
