Outsourcing revenue expected to jump
SHANGHAI aims to more than quadruple revenues from the city's offshore services outsourcing industry by 2015, Vice Mayor Tang Dengjie said today.
Based on improved economic competitiveness and a better infrastructure, Shanghai can lead other cities in the Yangtze Delta region to attract more foreign contracts in outsourcing, Tang said at a forum in Shanghai.
In five years, the offshore services outsourcing industry in Shanghai is expected to generate proceeds of US$4.5 billion, up from last year's US$1.04 billion.
In the first three quarters, the sector's revenue surged 91.9 percent from a year earlier to US$619 million, playing a key role in Shanghai's services outsourcing industry.
