Shanghai’s economy up 6.7% in the first three quarters

SHANGHAI’S gross domestic product expanded 6.7 percent from a year earlier in the first three quarters of this year, the Shanghai Statistics Bureau said today.

The growth rate stayed flat with the pace in the first half, and in line with the national average.

The services sector, which accounted for 70.9 percent in the total economic output, rose 10.3 percent in the first nine months, while manufacturing and agriculture dropped 0.7 percent and 12.1 percent respectively.
