Small country's big idea
LIECHTENSTEIN, a small European country but strong in manufacturing and financial services, aims to become a bigger partner with China, its Prime Minister Klaus Tschutscher said yesterday in Shanghai.
Covering an area of 160 square kilometers, Liechtenstein is proud of its skilled workforce and its strength in financial services, private banking in particular.
Tschutscher said the country can partner with China to explore the potential of China's manufacturing and financial services sectors.
Output of advanced manufacturing contributed nearly 40 percent of Liechtenstein's 5.3 billion swiss franc (US$5.2 billion) gross domestic product last year, while financial services took another 31 percent.
