Working together

THE Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan opened a joint office in Shanghai yesterday to promote bilateral trade and investment.

The Western Canada Trade and Investment Office, located on the 20th floor of the Center Building on Changle Road, is expected to advance the region's strength in industries including green technology, natural resources and agriculture.

The joint office is part of the recently forged New West Partnership agreement between the three provinces, which created Canada's largest marketplace of nearly 9 million people and a combined gross domestic product of more than US$550 billion.
