Ansell eyes fast growth in China
RUBBER products maker Ansell Ltd aims to grow quickly in China which now accounts for only a small portion of the Australian company’s global sales.
China took up 4 percent of Ansell’s global sales of US$1.37 billion in the 2012-13 fiscal year that ended on June 30, and Chief Executive Magnus Nicolin told a media briefing in Shanghai yesterday that that’s not enough considering China’s share in the global economy.
“China is a younger market when it comes to certain technologies,” he said, citing the low use of non-latex surgical gloves which could avoid allergies.
Sales of the Melbourne-based company, the world’s largest rubber gloves producer and the second-largest maker of condoms, in China are growing faster this year than in fiscal 2013 when they rose 14 percent, he said.
