BASF sales jump

GERMAN chemical company BASF boosted China sales by 40 percent in 2010, but at the same time reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 3.6 percent due to better efficiency, Johnny Kwan, chairman of BASF China, said in Shanghai.
He added the company is actively seeking acquisitions. BASF last month said it agreed to buy control of Shandong Province-based Jining Hock Mining and Engineering Co.
