Henkel's sales jump

HENKEL, the German cosmetics-to-glue maker, said sales in Asia Pacific grew 30.8 percent to 2.17 billion euros (US$3 billion) last year.

In organic terms, adjusted for foreign exchange and acquisitions and divestments, sales in this region grew 17.8 percent. The company looks to generate more sales in emerging markets, including the Middle East and Latin America.

Henkel had 41 percent of its total sales from emerging markets last year, up from 31 percent in 2006, and plans to further raise the ratio to 45 percent in 2012.
