Qatar's LNG deal
A Qatari state-controlled gas producer has signed a deal to sell up to 2.4 million tons of liquefied natural gas a year to British energy firm Centrica.
Qatargas says the three-year sales and purchase deal signed on Thursday and disclosed at the weekend covers gas produced by its Qatargas 4 division. The fuel will be shipped to Britain's Isle of Grain terminal. Financial terms were not revealed.
Qatar holds the world's third largest natural gas reserves and is the biggest supplier of LNG. Qatargas 4 is a joint venture between state-run Qatar Petroleum, which owns 70 percent, and Royal Dutch Shell.
