Refund for not so golden 18K bracelet
HONG Kong-based jeweler Chow Sang Sang is providing a refund to buyers of a gold bracelet that failed a quality check on the Chinese mainland.
The jeweler's 54860B 18K gold bracelet was found with insufficient gold content as required, the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce said on November 9 as it published a list of jewelry items that failed its quality inspection.
In a statement, the Hong Kong jeweler said it has pulled this item off shelves before the end of June and customers will be refunded fully at any Chow Sang Sang stores on the mainland till the end of this year.
Only "a very few" customers had bought the bracelet, the jeweler said, adding it would also offer a refund for other 18K gold bracelets should buyers have concerns over the gold content. The jeweler said it has recently started an internal quality inspection on its gold products.
