Alibaba and Austrade tie up for trade
ALIBABA Group is partnering the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) to explore trade opportunities as the e-commerce giant bids to solidify its position in the international markets.
“(The agreement) provides a new framework to ensure more businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, can benefit through the partnership between Austrade and Alibaba,” Jack Ma, executive chairman and founder of Alibaba Group, said in a statement yesterday.
Alibaba’s business-to-consumer site Tmall currently hosts 16 national pavilions selling a wide range of imported goods including diapers to nutritional supplements to personal care products to allow Chinese consumers seeking premium products to enhance their quality of life.
