BOC's Profit Jumps 27%

THE Bank of China yesterday said its first-half profit jumped 27 percent on growth in interest income following a lending boom last year.
Profit for the six months ending June 30 was 52 billion yuan (US$7.6 billion), up from 41 billion yuan a year earlier, the bank said. BOC's first-half interest income rose 23 percent over a year earlier to 91.8 billion yuan.
