THE Bank of East Asia has gained regulatory approval to open its first rural bank in China, the bank said yesterday.
The rural bank, to be based in Fuping County in Shaanxi Province, has a registered capital of 20 million yuan (US$2.9 million). It is expected to start operations in the fourth quarter of this year to serve farmers and small companies to support rural economic development.
