Blue chips pressure key index

STOCKS fell yesterday with financial and heavyweight counters under pressure.
The Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.32 percent to close at 3,292.44 points.
China Life Insurance shed 2.96 percent to 30.14 yuan (US$4.56). Industrial Bank dipped 0.46 percent and China Citic Bank Corp lost 1.28 percent. Gemdale Corporation fell 2.09 percent.
Aviation shares, however, rose as China Eastern Airline gained 1.21 percent and Air China climbed 0.98 percent to 11.38 yuan.
Retail shares and shopping center operators bucked the downward trend amid hopes that deeper collaboration with Internet firms would boost their profitability.
Sanjiang Shopping Club rose 2.62 percent to 23.92 yuan and Wangfujing Group Co surged by the daily cap of 10 percent to 21.62 yuan.
