CATHAY Insurance has opened a branch in Jiangsu Province to tap demand for financial protection after getting approval from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission for the office in September.
Cathay Insurance is also planning a branch in Fujian Province. The insurer, with a registered capital of 400 million yuan (US$58.6 million), was set up by Taiwan's Cathay Financial Holdings affiliates.
