China, UK creative players secure deals
CHINA and the United Kingdom signed several commercial collaboration agreements at the Creative Innovators Forum in Shanghai yesterday.
Over 150 executives and industry players from both the UK and China, including BBC Worldwide, ITV Studios, Framestore UK, iQiyi, Shanghai Media Group and Jiangsu TV attended the event.
Companies developing and applying virtual reality and augmented reality were also present.
Abertay University signed a partnership agreement with Perfect World, a game company. The deal will offer Chinese graduates a route to the university’s famous Professional Masters in Games Development.
Lion Television and China-based Jiangsu Broadcasting Corp will co-produce “Tales from Modern China,” a program that aims to explore the civilization of ancient and modern China.
Unanico Group secured a 40-million-pound (US$51 million) cooperation deal with China Lion Entertainment Production Co to produce and distribute animated feature films. Unanico also reached a strategic partnership with Hunan Mango Entertainment for a slate of live action films.
Cardiff-based Cloth Cat Animation and China’s Magic Mall will team up on an animation series based on Magic Mall’s character Luo Bao Bei.
