China UnionPay Co Yen for debit cards

CHINA UnionPay Co yesterday teamed up with the Bank of China to issue Japanese yen-denominated UnionPay-standard debit cards in Japan, UnionPay said yesterday.
The card can also be accepted in China and UnionPay's 70-plus overseas network, the Shanghai-based company said.
UnionPay, China's sole bank card transaction switcher, is expanding its global presence by allying with banks from China and overseas to issue UnionPay cards overseas.
