Eye on effective policy

The Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District hopes to replicate preferential policies that are effective in the city’s pilot free trade zone.
The Hongqiao CBD will adopt policies that have proven effective in the pilot zone, especially non-customs related, Cai Xiaoqing, vice head of Minhang District, said yesterday.
He said that when a policy has been proven to be effective and a success in the FTZ in the Pudong New Area, the Hongqiao CBD will duplicate it.
The Minhang District and the Hongqiao CBD yesterday jointly launched a 2 billion yuan (US$329 million) fund to support multinational firms to set up headquarters and developers who build office buildings with low carbon emissions, said Jiang Xiaolong, deputy director of the management commission of the Hongqiao CBD.
