Finance to play role in Wujiang

CONSTRUCTION of the first provincial-level financial town in Suzhou has started in Taihu New City of Wujiang.
The town’s north area has 26 headquarter buildings under construction while its south area will have a cluster of financial and wealth-management companies.
The construction is sponsored by a group of 12 institutions, including Legend Holdings, Greenland Financial Holdings, CITIC Group and Soochow Securities.
Apart from the financial town, another 25 projects whose total investments are worth 28.3 billion yuan (US$4.2 billion) are being built in Wujiang.
Investments totaling 57 billion yuan were concluded in 58 projects in areas such as smart manufacturing, smart city and private equity during the Wujiang Investment and Trade Fair this week.
