Health insurance joint venture targets expats

FRANCE'S Mobility Saint Honore is to form a joint venture in China to provide health insurance for expats.

The world's major provider of expat health insurance service is linking up with Shanghai Tai Kai Business Management Co in the 20 million yuan (US$2.9 million) venture.

"We follow the needs of clients, and more of them are moving into China," said Laurent Cochet, president of MSH China. "China is the main focus in our Asian-Pacific business."

There are about 45,000 expats working in Shanghai.

MSH China targets corporate clients, focusing on multinational companies with expat employees and Chinese companies expanding overseas.

It also sees China's wealthy as potential clients.
