SHANGHAI stocks continued Tuesday’s weak momentum, with the index remaining almost unchanged yesterday as investors stayed on the sidelines awaiting the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision.
The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.1 percent to 3,025.9 points. The turnover was 134.1 billion yuan (US$20 billion).
There’s little volatility in the market as investors remain focused on major central bank meetings and trading has been slim for the past few days.
China Merchants Securities said in a research note yesterday that the market has been silent for a few days but with few negative factors remaining, the index is likely to stay in a slim range in the near future.
