Japan’s Nikkei closes 1.03% higher
Tokyo stocks closed 1.03 percent higher yesterday, renewing a six-year-high backed by a weaker yen and continued rallies on Wall Street.
The Nikkei 225 rose 164.45 points to 16,174.44, the best finish since November 2007.
Tokyo shares gained from the weaker yen amid continued monetary easing steps by the Bank of Japan, said Yoshihiro Okumura, general manager of research at Chibagin Asset Management.
“The risk-taking sentiment is buoyant,” Okumura said.
