Melco Crown seeks to lure tourists from Shanghai
MELCO Crown Entertainment Limited, an owner and developer of casino gaming and entertainment resort facilities in Macau, is seeking to draw tourists from Shanghai to its upcoming new resort.
The company will launch the Studio City, a cinematically-themed entertainment and leisure resort, in Macau in the third quarter this year.
Located on Macau’s Cotai Strip, the integrated resort will provide amenities in leisure entertainment, hotel, retail, dining and lifestyle experiences.
“Shanghai is a very important market for us. I hope our exciting Hollywood-inspired entertainment proposition whets the appetite for thrillingly innovative leisure travel experiences to Macau,” Ted Chan, chief operating officer of Melco Crown Entertainment, said in Shanghai on Friday. .
The US$3.2 billion project marks Melco Crown Entertainment’s latest bid to boost non-gaming leisure and entertainment offerings in Macau.
