National pension fund stays prudent
CHINA'S national pension fund didn't invest in high-risk securities such as collateralized debt obligations in overseas markets last year, the nation's central bank said.
The fund adopted a prudent investment policy amid the global financial turmoil, the People's Bank of China said in its 2008 International Financial Market Report, which was released yesterday on its Website. China will "actively create conditions" for domestic financial companies and institutional investors to participate in overseas markets, the central bank said, without providing details.
