New man at helm in Pudong and at FTZ
THE Pudong New Area and Shanghai’s pilot free trade zone yesterday appointed a new man at the helm, the Pudong government said.
Weng Zuliang, the former Party secretary of Huangpu District, became acting head of Pudong and executive deputy director of the city’s FTZ with immediate effect. Weng, 53, replaced Sun Jiwei, who had served as the head of Pudong since 2014 and became executive deputy director of the FTZ last year.
Weng will be in charge of the zone’s day-to-day administration as its fourth executive deputy director since it was inaugurated in 2013.
Weng will also serve as deputy director of the administration of Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone, which operates the Shanghai Disney Resort in cooperation with the Walt Disney Co, and Shanghai Lingang Area Development Administration.
