Ownership rules for brokerages
The ceiling on ownership of domestic brokerages was raised for foreign companies effective yesterday, the industry regulator said.
Foreign firms are allowed to raise their stake in domestic securities joint ventures to 49 percent, up from 33 percent, according to a statement published on the website of the China Securities Regulatory Commission. The policy took effect immediately. Investors from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan were applicable to the new policy.
