THE State Council, China’s Cabinet, has said it would allow a trial of parallel car imports in the pilot free trade zone in Shanghai, which is expected to lower prices of imported cars.
The government will further manage import procedures, adjust rules on car sales and quicken preparation for a trial of parallel car imports in the zone, the State Council said in a statement released last week.
Parallel imports refer to branded goods that are imported into a market and sold without the permission of the owner of the trademark.
