DUTCH paint maker Akzonobel yesterday opened a new research and development center in Shanghai.
The facility cost 6.5 million euros (US$7.3 million) to build and is staffed by 150 scientists involved in the development of paints and performance coatings.
The center is Akzonobel’s fifth around the world, the company said, adding that China’s commitment to developing green energy was a key factor in the selection of the location for the new site.
