UK to be highlight of forum
THE United Kingdom will be the Country of Honor this year at the annual Pujiang Innovation Forum in Shanghai that has attracted more than 100 senior government officials, scholars, business people and entrepreneurs.
The forum will be held from Friday to next Monday.
The China-UK science and technology joint council will be unveiled on Friday, and another exchange activity will be held in Lujiazui. An event themed “Concept to Commercialization” will be held on Saturday.
Speakers will share their insights on cooperation between China and the UK on technology and science against the background of Brexit.
The main forum is titled “Double Engines: Technological and Institutional Innovation,” and is hosted by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Shanghai city government. The Province of Honor will be east China’s Zhejiang.
There will be two industry forums this year — “Intelligent Manufacturing and Industrial Big Data” and “Intelligent Vehicles.”
Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiong, UK’s Minister of State for Universities and Science Jo Johnson, and Vice Governor of Zhejiang Feng Fei will deliver keynote addresses.
