US jitters hit stocks
SHANGHAI stocks fell yesterday, after US Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said the Fed could raise interest rates as soon as next month, which is expected to make emerging markets less attractive. The Shanghai Composite Index fell below the 3,200 threshold, losing 0.49 percent to 3,192.86 points. Market heavyweights and financial stocks were hit worst, dragging down overall performance.
