CHINA Unicom will use new mobile numbers starting with 185 in Shanghai yesterday as it prepares for the debut of Apple's iPhone 5 in the Chinese mainland. When the iPhone 5 is launched on the mainland users who sign a contract when they buy the phone will get numbers starting with 185. Other 3G users are also able to subscribe to the 185 numbers starting from yesterday. "The new mobile numbers are designed for high-end 3G users, including iPhone 5 users in future," said Deng Xuan, vice general manager of China Unicom's Shanghai branch.
