BAIDU yesterday said Andrew Ng, an expert in artificial intelligence, is leaving the company with plans to explore a new chapter after three years as its chief scientist. Baidu will consolidate its technology teams and form AI Group, which will headed by Vice President Wang Haifeng. Baidu in January brought in Silicon Valley veteran and ex-Microsoft executive Lu Qi as its new chief operating officer to beef up technology talent as well as its management team.
