E-books hot in 3 major cities
BEIJING, Shanghai and Shenzhen are the top three cities for people willing to spend time and money on digital books or e-books, whose market revenue tops US$1.4 billion annually in China, according to industry officials.
The most popular e-book titles in China cover sci-fi and fantasy novels, business management and healthcare books. Middle school and university students like reading e-books and they read 18 e-books on average each year, e-book service provider iReader said in a report yesterday.
People in the three cities people also like to read serious contents such as literature and poems on electronic devices. Young people like reading sci-fi novels and cartoon e-books, according to iReader.
