Electronic exports up

CHINA'S electronic exports, especially of telecommunications equipment and mobile phones, jumped 15.8 percent on an annual basis in the first half of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said yesterday.

More electronic exports went to Asian nations while those to Western countries fell, the ministry said.

In the first six months, China's electronic exports hit US$303.5 billion, accounting for 34.7 percent of the country's total exports.

Exports to Germany and Britain fell in the period while those to Asian regions, including Japan, surged.
