CORNING Shanghai Fiber Optics Co has expanded its fiber manufacturing facilities to cater to China's rising demand for high-speed communication networks especially after the issuance of 3G licenses.

Despite the current economic situation, China's broadband business was a bright spot, said Wendell P. Weeks, chairman and CEO of Corning Inc.
