HTC One Max sports fingerprint sensor
HTC Corp unveiled its flagship model HTC One Max with a built-in fingerprint sensor yesterday in Beijing, becoming the second handset maker to offer it after Apple’s iPhone 5S which was released last month.
It was also the first time for HTC to debut a flagship product globally on the Chinese mainland, the world’s biggest mobile phone market.
“The Chinese market has great potential for us. The global debut represents our commitment,” said Jack Tong, HTC China’s president.
The new HTC One Max features a 5.9-inch screen, improved camera, supports 4G and fingerprint sensor.
China is set to issue 4G licenses by the end of this year, and handset makers are looking to meeting the huge consumer demand for smartphones that can surf the high speed of the next-generation network.
HTC will cooperate deeply with mobile carriers to promote 4G smartphones in China, said Tong.
In the long term, HTC eyes 20 percent share of the domestic market, up from 1.7 percent now.
