Huawei batteries charge 10 times faster
HUAWEI Technologies, the No. 1 China-brand smartphone vendor, yesterday said it has developed next-generation batteries that can charge 10 times faster than current technology.
The new quick charging lithium-ion batteries are able to charge up to around 50 percent capacity “within several minutes,” Huawei said.
Watt Lab, a research institute under Huawei, unveiled the new batteries at the 56th Battery Symposium in Japan yesterday. During a demonstration, the batteries needed five minutes to charge to 48 percent capacity.
