Joint efforts to enhance cyber security
THE issue of cyber security takes on a high profile as firms and government bureaus have joined together to strengthen it, Shanghai Daily learned during the China International Industry Fair yesterday.
Various organizations, including Russia-based Kaspersky and China Telecom, one of the three biggest domestic carriers, are engaged in cross-border cooperation in high technologies and cyber security services.
Security firm Kaspersky Lab aims to expand its business of industrial cyber security in China to cover energy, chemical, steel, manufacturing and other industries as Internet connection makes them vulnerable to cyber threats now.
Kaspersky is willing to collaborate more effectively and closely on industrial control system, covering data and information sharing among countries including Russia and China.
China Telecom displayed a real-time monitoring system for phishing sites, which disguise themselves as official websites in order to defraud people online or used to capture user accounts and passwords.
The top phishing sites disguise themselves as those belonging to banks, airlines and Apple China, according China Telecom.
The top-three regions for phishing website servers are in Hong Kong, the US and the Chinese mainland.
