Lenovo eyes growth with new products
LENOVO Group aims to expand its market share by 2 or 3 percentage points in China over the next three years by launching cloud computing on desktops as well as offering customized products such as a new Thinkpad, an all-in-one computer and its LePhone smartphone.
It has also targeted enterprise clients, especially small- and medium-size companies, which it hopes to better support by making use of its Expo IT service experience it gained from being the information technology partner of the Expo.
The event allows Lenovo to gain experience and improve brand awareness and this will help it penetrate the enterprise PC market, Chen Xudong, general manager of Lenovo China, said yesterday.
Lenovo "will provide them the products they need," said Chen. He added that Lenovo, the world's No. 4 personal computer maker, plans to offer cloud computing services and all-in-one computers for SMEs to help them save costs and improve work efficiency.
It has also launched the LePhone smartphone, claimed to be a direct competitor of Apple's iPhone, in China. The firm is testing business-oriented mobile applications on the LePhone with Changning District government, which allows officials to deal with documents on the go.
