Logistics ops centers

TAOBAO.COM is planning to launch more than 20 logistics operation centers in first-tier cities by the end of this year to tap the growing demand from e-commerce firms, a company official said.
Last week, the leading C2C platform under the Alibaba Group began operating its Shanghai logistics center in collaboration with Best Logistics Technology Co.
"This will help lower vendors' operation cost and help small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the online shopping market," said Gong Tao, director of Taobao's enterprise logistics division.
Best Logistics Co's operation center in Shanghai takes orders from over 100 Taobao vendors as well as serve local retailers. It is planning to expand to 60 operation centers in domestic cities by the end of this year.
