Motorola focuses on Android
MOTOROLA Inc, which had captured more than 50 percent of the Chinese Android phone market by the end of 2010, will continue to focus on the Google-developed system to expand domestically, the company said yesterday.
"We have advantages in Android, and the natural thing is to expand the advantage here (in China)," said Meng Pu, Motorola China's president.
The United States handset maker is expanding cooperation with Chinese telecommunication operators to launch more Android phones in the domestic market this year, the company said.
For example, Motorola and China Telecom jointly launched the Droid X ME811, a new Android phone with CDMA technology in Beijing earlier this month.
