CHINA has become the world’s third-biggest market of Amazon’s online subscription book service Kindle Unlimited, following the United States and the United Kingdom, since it debuted in the country a year ago, Amazon said yesterday. The top-three cities with most “borrowed” book volumes in the past year were Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, said Amazon. With a monthly cost of 12 yuan (US$1.74), Kindle Unlimited users in China are accessible to “borrow” books among 67,000 titles so far, including more than 6,000 import original English books.
