Philips sees growth
PHILIPS aims to expand market share in China with new TV sets boasting super high definition 8K resolution, quantum dot display and Internet of Things technologies, the Dutch consumer electronics giant said yesterday. The company also has its sights on expanding into the smartphone and virtual reality sectors. Philips will establish an ecosystem covering products including TV, monitor, handset, tablet, VR and business monitor with screen sizes of between 5 inches and 144 inches. In 2016, Philips sold more than 2.4 million TVs in China, up 33 percent, one of its fastest growing markets.
