Shanghai eyes credit system
SHANGHAI aims to lead other cities in China in establishing a credit system that covers various industries such as travel and tourism as well as finance, the local industry regulator said yesterday.
Other aspects of the system that Shanghai is looking to set up include a credit law, a mobile credit app and a tourism credit alliance covering the Yangtze River Delta.
The city’s congress is set to discuss a credit law in December. The law, officially to go into effect next year, will be the first one nationwide.
A mobile app called Credit Shanghai will debut next week and this app allows residents to check personal credit data. A tourism credit alliance to be set up next week will cover the Yangtze River Delta. It allows tourism authorities to ban tourists, who broke rules in tourism sites, to book transport tickets.
