Smart Phones Boom
THE number of Chines people using mobile phones to access the Internet rose to 303 million by the end of 2010, a rise of 23 percent over 2009.
The China Internet Network Information Center said this was the result of a smart phones sales boom.
Net users spend an average 2.6 hours a day on the Internet, its report said.
The total number of net users in China was 437 million by the end of last year, an increase of 16 percent.
The number of online shoppers rose 48.6 percent to 160.5 million while online banking users reached 139.5 million, a 30.5 percent jump.
Last year also saw the microblog become popular and China now has about 63.1 million microblog users.
