Sohu, Microsoft in online video tie-up
THE online video unit of Sohu Inc entered into a partnership with Microsoft China to provide the latter with an online video streaming service.
It will run the online video business on MSN China's portal website cn.msn.com and allow users to share and repost video clippings from Sohu through its instant messaging service.
Viewers can also log onto Sohu's video site using an MSN username and password.
Domestic video sites have been seeking new channels to reach a wider audience. In September, 56.com was sold to China's leading social networking site Renren Inc for US$80 million.
Earlier this year, Tudou, another domestic video site, also introduced Sina as an investor to help draw visitors from Weibo to its online video platform.
