Tapping boom

COMMSCOPE Inc, a United States-based communication network component provider, has opened an office in Shanghai to tap the domestic market, especially in booming telecommunications and high-speed railway systems, it said yesterday.

The new facility is in the Caohejin Microelectronics Industrial Zone, and covers the company's complete portfolio, including wireless, enterprise and broadband applications.

Andrew Solutions, the company's subsidiary, now has clients such as China Telecom and China Unicom. Its products are also used in the Beijing-Tianjin and Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan high-speed railways as well as Shanghai's Metro system.
