Top IT firms tap China’s medical sector

TOP information technology companies are tapping into China’s medical industry to help cope with huge volume data processing demand, Shanghai Daily learned today.

Artificial intelligence, data analysis and O2O (online to offline) technologies are playing important roles in the domestic medical industry, according to firms like Tencent, InterSystems and iFlytek.

Tencent has signed an agreement with the Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University to adopt Internet Plus and AI applications for use in screening for cervical cancer and breast cancer.

InterSystems, which offers a database system for medical firms, provides customized services such as database and related analysis tools that share data and interoperable systems. Such services will help local hospitals facing huge volume of data processing.

Shenzhen-listed iFlytek offers the latest AI assistant that is able to directly input voice-based medical records to a standard database.
