Travel tracking code system crashes
A NATIONAL travel history tracking code system, used by people to enter public venues during the epidemic, crashed yesterday.
In Shanghai, people faced difficulty in accessing the interface of the Itinerary Card, which is required for entering hospitals, shopping centers and some office buildings.
Normally, people can access the system through the Internet browser, WeChat or a mobile application and get a green code that allows them entry.
“The number of itinerary card queries has increased sharply, putting increased pressure on the system,” the operator said.
The service resumed to normal use in the afternoon.
The platform, which provides service for 1.6 billion phone users across China, can help local epidemic prevention and control workers to verify people’s travel history within 14 days, including domestic cities and other countries or regions where the person has stayed for more than four hours.
