Under-glass fingerprint leaves mark
VIVO, one of China’s top five smartphone brands, aims to expand into the high-end segment of the market with a model that features a unique in-display fingerprint technology and artificial intelligence, Shanghai Daily learned yesterday.
The company launched its new flagship model X21 that comes with an under-glass fingerprint sensor that made Vivo the world’s first brand to adopt the feature. Embedding the sensor under the glass screen of the phone offers users a wider viewable space.
The X21 comes under a new sub-brand Jovi that focuses on AI in navigation, parking, and photography as well as being able to answer questions and offers smart suggestions.
The new model will be available from March 28 at 3,598 yuan (US$562).
